Ironton grew up as a mining town on the Cuyuna iron range, and for most of its history it was simply Crosby's smaller neighbor. Today it is one of the best-located small towns in the region for outdoor recreation, sitting right at the north end of the Cuyuna singletrack system with the Miner's Mountain Rally Center on its doorstep.
