The Gull Lake Trail is arriving in Nisswa. Construction on the trail's CSAH 77 section advanced through 2025, and kiosks, maps, and mile markers are now in place along the route. Once the final stretch is complete, the roughly 21-mile paved loop will circle three sides of Gull Lake and connect Nisswa to Lake Shore, East Gull Lake, and the neighborhoods between them.

Where does the trail run through Nisswa?

The Nisswa link follows the CSAH 77 corridor, the stretch that connects the town to Lake Shore along the north side of Gull Lake. As of late summer 2026, less than half a mile of the entire trail remained to be completed, and that final piece is the Lake Shore to Nisswa connection. When it lands, the loop runs end to end.

How far along is the Gull Lake Trail?

The trail is roughly 21 miles of paved, multiuse path built at a cost of more than $13.5 million, running around three sides of Gull Lake with trailheads and kiosks along the way. It links Nisswa, Lake Shore, East Gull Lake, and Fairview Township, and it is used for morning walks, family rides, and the kind of lakeside exercise that makes lake living feel complete. Our full Gull Lake Trail guide walks through the route and the trailheads.

What does the trail mean for Nisswa buyers?

  • **A connection to Main Street.** The trail ties residential areas and lake homes to Nisswa's walkable downtown, which is rare in lake country.
  • **Year-round value.** A paved trail works for strollers, bikes, and winter walks, and it does not show up in a listing photo.
  • **A stronger resale picture.** Communities with finished trail networks hold up well, and this one is nearly complete.
  • The bottom line

Nisswa has always sold itself on Main Street charm and Gull Lake water, and the trail adds the missing piece: an easy, paved way to get out and connect. It is one of the strongest quality-of-life features in the Gull Lake market, and it is almost finished.
