East Gull Lake's Golf and Resort Life: Cragun's, Madden's, and the Gull Chain

East Gull Lake is known for its shoreline, and Gull Lake is the centerpiece. But the community's identity is also shaped by its resorts and its golf. With a concentration of championship courses and lakeside resorts, East Gull Lake offers a level of resort-style living that few addresses in the Lakes Area can match.

A resort community with deep roots

Madden's on Gull Lake and Cragun's Resort anchor the community's social calendar, offering dining, accommodations, and gatherings that bring residents and visitors together. For people who live here, that means a built-in social life and amenities close to home, not a drive to find them.

Golf that draws from across the region

Cragun's Legacy Courses bring championship golf designed by Tom Lehman, and the course lineup around Gull Lake is among the strongest in Central Minnesota. The golf culture gives the community a year-round identity that extends well past the summer boating season.

What the lifestyle means

Amenities are part of daily life: Resort dining, golf, and events are not occasional; they are woven into how the community functions.

It attracts a certain buyer: People drawn to East Gull Lake tend to value service, recreation, and a polished setting.

The water still leads: Golf and resorts build on the Gull Chain, but the lake remains the reason most people come.

The honest read

East Gull Lake offers the most resort-oriented lifestyle in the area. If you want water access, strong property values, and a community where golf and lakeside amenities are part of everyday life, it is one of the most distinctive places to live in the Brainerd Lakes Area.
